REPATRIATION

Personal virtual exhibition as part of the Kosovo Museum program, on the occasion of International Museum Day. I presented 9 works/plates featuring motifs from archaeological and ethnographic artefacts found in the territory of Kosovo.

Leda and the Swan

Silver Roman fibula, dating back to the 3rd century AD, found in Ulpiana (near Prishtina, Kosovo). This fibula depicts the famous mythological scene of Leda and the Swan (actually Zeus/Jupiter).

Anthropomorphous Mask

Anthropomorphic terracotta mask from Neolithic period (5th millennium BC) discovered at the settlement of Tjerrtore (near Prishtina, Kosovo).

Pin

Bronze double-spiral needle dating from the Late Middle Bronze Age (1650–1550 BC). It has a height of 11 cm and a diameter of 3 cm. It was discovered at the necropolis of Gllarevë in Kosovo.

Anthropomorphous Figure

Terracotta (baked clay) figurine in a seated position, belonging to Vinça Culture (c. 5400–4500 BC). Height: 26.5 cm.

Prosopomorphic Lid

Prozopomorphic lid crafted from baked clay, measuring 11.5 cm in height and 13 cm in diameter. It is stylized with motifs and exquisite artistic ornamentation, discovered in Fafos, near Mitrovica in Kosovo.

Anthropomorphic terracotta figurine discovered in Vallaç (Kosovo), belonging to Vinça Culture from the Late Neolithic period (7000 - 4500 BC). Height: 21.5 cm.

Lid from Gadima

This decorated lid features engraved spiral lines. It belongs to the Eneolithic period, Gadime-Hisar Culture (3500-2500 BC). Crafted from clay, it stands at a height of 4 cm and has a diameter of 24 cm. It was found in Glladnicë - Graçanicë (Kosovo).

Fibula

Roman fibula of the “bow” type discovered in Municipium DD (Dardanorum), in the village of Soçanicë (Kosovo). The bow of the fibula is decorated with silver floral motifs, while the foot has a series of 12 pressed “eye” motifs. It dates back to the 3rd - 4th century AD.

Figure of Centaur

Terracotta figurine of a centaur with a height of 10.3 cm. It was discovered in Vallaç and belongs to Vinça Culture, Late Neolithic period (7000 - 4500 BC).
